This is the Original, Patented Myristin ™ CM / CMO
Myristin ™ cetyl myristoleate (also known as CMO or CM) was discovered by Harry W. Diehl. Diehl took a fatty acid, myristoleic acid, and combined it with a fatty alcohol molecule, cetyl alcohol, creating an ester of that fatty acid called cetyl myristoleate. He discovered that it was the presence of this compound in swiss albino mice that prevented the mice from developing joint problems. Diehl's laboratory experiments on CM were published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in March, 1994. Diehl patented his discover of Myristin, US Patent # 5,569,676.
Myristin ™ is Diehl's patented and trademarked product, and it is cis-9-cetyl myristoleate, the substance used in Diehl's oft cited research that appeared in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in March 1994. It is also the substance used (and given orally) in a 32-week, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial by Siemandi, MD, PhD (et al).
Myristin ™ CM / CMO Ingredients
Each 2 capsules of Myristin ™ contain the following:
- Cetyl Myristoleate, 220mg
- Cetyl Myristate, 295mg
- Other Cetyl Esters, 40mg
For optimal results, supplement with Myrst-Aid in conjunction with Myrstin.
How Myristin ™ CM / CMO Works
Cetyl Myristoleate (CM) appears to function in 3 ways:
- It serves as a surfactant and not only lubricates joints, but also lubricates the entire body, allowing muscles to move more smoothly.
- It functions as an immune system modulator, which may be effective against auto-immune problems.
- It functions like a fatty acid in the mediation of histamine and leukotrine response.
Myristin ™ CM / CMO Protocol
One 17-day course may be enough for some individuals. Research has indicated an overall success rate as high as 88.2 percent (compared to only 16.1% in the placebo groups) when used in conjunction with supportive nutrients for cartilage growth and control of histamine and leukotrine response (i.e., glucosamine hydrochloride, sea cucumber, and hydrolyzed cartilage).
Those individuals who do not have success with CM usually just need more of it; early research indicates that the effectiveness of one course will depend on the severity of the joint condition. Some people have reported improvements in just 7 days.
There are no confirmed reports of adverse side effects with Myristin ™, nor have there been any reported interactions with other medications or natural substances.
However, while supplementing with Myristin CMO, avoid carbonated cola beverages, citrus juices, alcohol and caffeine, which inhibit the absorption of CM.
As a safety matter, CM should not be used by pregnant or lactating women until specific research has been done on CM's effects on fetuses and infants.
Suggested Myristin ™ CM / CMO Supplementation
As a dietary supplement, 7 capsules per day (2 in the morning, 2 mid-day, and 3 in the evening) for 17 days (120 capsules per bottle), or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. During the 17-day period, also supplement with 8 capsules of Myrst-Aid per day.
